Selected talks with the Master

«The word meditation is not a match to the notion 'zen'.  The very word zen is used to denote a certain phenomenon, a certain fact of existence. There was, is and will be a huge number of explanatory definitions on paper, but the essence of this phenomenon can not be limited to any forms, including those of words.

There is only one way to perceive it: to feel it upon one's own back. To get into it. This is the reason why zen has never been — and, by the end of ages, will not be — a mass phenomenon. Zen generates zen. This is an individual, deeply intimate state. It is always here, always close by, it is no further from us than a sound from the clap. And there is a chance to get into it. The only thing required is to see, hear, feel, experience — and professionally develop the possibility to transform this chance into the state.

Man is deeply unique in all kinds of creative activities. Each being has a personal code. There are no two identical fingerprints, two gaits, even the odour is inimitable. And this is true for all subtle levels — this is how deeply man is unique.
